WALT ("we," "our," or "us") provides a mobile application designed to help independent contractors manage jobs, contacts, expenses, and mileage. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the WALT app.
Account Information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and phone number to identify you and enable core app functionality.
Job & Contact Data. You may enter information about your jobs, clients, and contacts. This data is stored to help you organize your work.
Expense Data. When you log expenses or scan receipts, we collect transaction details including amounts, vendors, categories, and receipt images. Receipt images are processed using optical character recognition (OCR) to extract relevant data.
Mileage & Location Data. With your permission, WALT uses your device's GPS to track trips for mileage logging. Location data is collected only while actively tracking a trip and is not monitored in the background without your knowledge. You can disable location access at any time through your device settings.
Voice Data. WALT offers a voice interface for hands-free operation. When you use voice commands, your audio is processed by third-party speech-to-text services (Deepgram or OpenAI Whisper) to convert speech to text. We do not store raw audio recordings after processing.
Device Information. We collect basic device information such as device type, operating system version, and app version for troubleshooting and compatibility purposes.

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides encryption at rest and in transit. We enforce row-level security so that each user can only access their own data. While no system is 100% secure, we take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it (for example, financial records for tax purposes).

WALT is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected data from a child, we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. The "Effective" date at the top of this page indicates when this policy was last revised.
